The newly released Asus EEE Slate tablet EP121 features a very large 12.1 inch capacitive touchscreen which makes it currently the largest tablet in the market. It is a very powerful and speedy device in hardware specs far exceeding the current iPad version. (Buy Eee Slate EP121 on Amazon)

The hardware specs in brief are a dual core Intel Core i5 processor (1.3GHz), 4GB of RAM (It is far ahead of all other tablets as well). EP121 tablet is sold in 32GB or 64GB solid state drive options. The tablet has an SD card slot, HDMI port, two USB ports, built-in 2MP webcam, internal speakers and mic. There is a stylus but most probably you will not use it much because the capacitive touchscreen of the Asus tablet is quite responsive and accurate. It offers a Bluetooth button as well to pair the tablet with the EP121 keyboard.

The best part with this Asus EEE tablet is the unbeatable processing power and plenty of features. It runs on Windows 7 Home Premium OS. So, all your traditional Windows applications will run here as well. It is a big plus not to be limited by Google Android market or Apple App Store apps as in the other Android tablets or iPad.

This tablet is for real big applications like Adobe Photoshop, MS Office, 3D Max or any others. The pressure sensitive stylus can be also a great use for designers and artists.

You may need to use stylus to press on some tiny or hard to reach sections of the OS because Windows is not designed to be used in touchscreens.

The huge screen is perfect to watch HD movies in 1080p quality and provides 1280×800 res. There is Flash support, so browsing experience is not limited in contrast to iPad.

Now, a few disadvantages of EEE Slate tablet which I should inform you about. First of all, forget about portability. This tablet is aimed to be used at home or in office for business. You can not carry with you everywhere surely. And, your arms will be tired in long usage. But, it didn’t stop me buying EEE Slate because I will use this at home and waiting also for release of a good Asus EEE Slate EP121 stand.

Second disadvantage of EP121 is the very low battery life. It will run only a few hours before draining all the battery power. It is actually natural because of the very hi-level hardware specs as I mentioned before. EP121 battery also didn’t stop me ordering 64GB ASUS Eee Slate EP121 Tablet on Amazon. It is a home tablet for me.

For me, Asus EP121 tablet is the winner of CES 2011 in tablets show and can recommend buying it for home or office usage.
